School Profile

Hunting Park Christian Academy

School Overview

Mission Statement: To provide an affordable, quality, Christian education that celebrates a diverse community and leads children to know and serve the Lord.

HPCA is a Pre-K through 8th-grade school, serving children in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia. We are currently entering our 27th year. Families continue to choose HPCA due to our family-like atmosphere, our commitment to living out the gospel, and our academic expectations. We are blessed to be serving the Lord. We have been accredited since 2009.

School History

In the spring of 1999, Spirit and Truth Fellowship Church met regarding the need for affordable Christian education in the inner city of Philadelphia. By God’s grace, the school was able to open in September of 1999 with a team of 6 employees and 70 students. Most of the children came from the immediate community and were not from “Christian” homes. Currently the community has a 53% high school drop-out rate. The community is typically under-educated. Many of the children we serve who come from the public schools are well behind grade level. We would like to change this in our community, by providing quality education and bringing the hope of Jesus Christ to the community. From its beginning the ethnic make-up of the school has been diverse.
