Our mission is to partner with Christian parents by providing an academically excellent, Biblically-based education, producing students with distinctive Christian character.
With a legacy spanning 30 years, Maryville Christian School (MCS) stands as a beacon of academic and spiritual excellence. Founded by a dedicated group of Christian parents, MCS was established to deliver a rigorous academic experience integrated with unwavering Christian values. Today, the school serves approximately 400 students from preschool through 12th grade, offering a Christ-centered, college preparatory education. As an independent, interdenominational institution, MCS is deeply committed to blending faith and learning, nurturing both the intellectual and spiritual growth of every student.
MCS boasts a dynamic athletics program, featuring seven sports and 21 teams across the lower and upper schools. Many of our student-athletes have achieved the distinction of signing to play at the collegiate level.
The school holds dual accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Cognia, underscoring its dedication to educational excellence and Christian principles.
School History
In the early 1990s, a group of 50 Christian families united in prayer, seeking God’s guidance for the establishment of a Christian school in Blount County. Their faith and dedication led to the founding of Maryville Christian School (MCS) on May 29, 1993, as a not-for-profit organization governed by a board of directors.
The school officially opened its doors on August 29, 1994, welcoming 47 students. Since then, God’s blessings have been evident in the school’s remarkable growth, now serving approximately 400 students. In January 2000, MCS relocated to its current 33-acre campus, a generous gift from supporters of the ministry.
The school celebrated its first graduating class in May 2001 and, over the past 30 years, has witnessed countless acts of sacrificial giving and steadfast prayer. Through the unwavering trust and commitment of its community, MCS has flourished as a place of both academic and Biblical excellence.
