School Overview

Founded in 1994, Haven of Peace Academy (HOPAC) has grown from a small mission community prayerfully seeking educational opportunities for its children, to a burgeoning international community prayerfully seeking God’s will in how to serve its neighborhood, city, and the nation of Tanzania. With approximately 370 students from more than 30 different countries, including unreached groups. HOPAC thrives with a diverse yet closely-knit community, pursuing together an excellent, Christ-centered, international education.
Consisting of primary, middle and senior schools, HOPAC addresses each student’s unique needs at every age level. Further middle school growth is planned for the coming years, increasing the total number of students to approximately 430 by August 2020.
HOPAC is dually accredited by ACSI and Middle States Association, and on track for re-accreditation late in the 2018-2019 school year. In its first accreditation cycle, HOPAC received strong commendations for community and school climate. HOPAC is a Cambridge-certified examination center, using curriculum based on the Cambridge International program. For the primary and middle school, while CIE objectives are used, the curriculum is modified according to the local context. Senior school students pursue examinations in IGCSE (grades 9 and 10) and A-levels (grades 11 and 12).
