North Cobb Christian School
School Overview
North Cobb Christian School is an independent, interdenominational Christian school located in the Kennesaw/Acworth area serving grades K-3 through 12. NCCS currently ranks as one of the largest private schools in the Atlanta area. NCCS believes each student has unique gifts and abilities endowed by God and welcomes the opportunity to help students explore, expand, and enjoy the calling of God on their lives. North Cobb Christian School offers a college preparatory program, a Distinguished Scholar Program, Honors Classes, and Advanced Placement Classes. Additionally, for those students who have clearly defined where their talents lie and how to best use those gifts to serve the Lord, we have developed our Academy Program. Upper school students may apply to enter one of five Academies. These rigorous programs help students develop their gifts, while still offering opportunities to explore other talents and interests. Each Academy offers specific, focused classes, and includes career shadowing and internships.
The five Academies are:
1. The Academy of the Arts - designed for students seeking a professional career in performance or visual arts.
2. The Academy of Business - providing a solid foundation for students interested in pursuing a business related career.
3. The Academy of Counseling, Ministry, and Education - focusing on helping students develop their gifts for service to others.
4. The Academy of Exercise and Sport Science - designed for students who have an interest in sports management, athletic training, coaching, nursing, physical therapy, and other related occupations.
5. The Academy of Math, Science, and Technology - preparing students for degrees and careers in high tech markets.
NCCS is fully accredited by AdvancEd (formerly SACS) and the Association of Christian Schools International. Additionally, we are Accredited with Quality by the Georgia Accrediting Commission.
NCCS is a member of the Southern Association of Independent Schools, the Association of Christian School International and the Georgia High School Association.

School History
North Cobb Christian School was originally Grace Christian School, a ministry of Grace Brethren Church of Marietta, with 36 students in grades Kindergarten through third grade. In 1983 the church decided to discontinue its educational ministry, but four familes, desiring an alternative to public education, re-chartered the school as North Cobb Christian School. In 1984, NCCS received approval by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit corporation, elected its first Board of Directors from among the school families, and became a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
