The Alliance Academy Internationa
School Overview
AAI’s mission is to develop followers of Jesus Christ who live with a focus on eternity; to provide students with a U.S. style of education based on the highest standards of educational excellence; and to provide a caring community where students are taught to be critical in their thinking, multicultural in their understanding, and compassionate in their dealings with others.
School History
The Alliance Academy International is an independent, Christian international school located in Quito, Ecuador, which serves children from the missionary, business, professional, diplomatic, and Christian ministry communities in the capital city of Ecuador. The Academy’s program, services, and ministry build on foundations laid by Christian & Missionary Alliance missionaries who founded the school in 1929. The quality programs and services which have resulted from the investment of hundreds of committed professional Christian educators over the decades rival those of any school in Latin America.
The Academy has a well-deserved reputation for academic excellence; breadth of educational opportunities and programs for students of varying gifts and ability levels; extensive programs in the arts and athletics; and an unwavering commitment to Christian ministry and outreach. The Alliance Academy was first accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), in 1965, and by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) in 1993. The school has maintained full accreditation and good standing with these accrediting agencies through the present.
The AAI serves approximately 400 students in preschool through high school, with students representing approximately thirty-two countries and a broad variety of cultural and language groups. Approximately seventy-five percent of the Academy’s students are English language learners. Members of the class of 2025 are reflective of the international reality at AAI, with graduates choosing to continue their university studies in South America, North America, Europe, and Asia. There is a great spirit on campus as students from very diverse spiritual backgrounds are challenged to consider the veracity and reality of Christian faith, make a commitment to follow Jesus Christ, become discipled in their faith, and given opportunities to express that faith in very unique and creative ways.
