Wayne Christian Academy

School Overview

Wayne Christian Academy (WCA) is a non-denominational, private, Christian school founded in 2012 and located in Jesup, GA. WCA is governed by a group of 5 board members and is the only private, Christian school in Wayne County. After 10 years of renting classroom space from a local church, WCA constructed a 25,000 sq. ft. facility in 2022 and is presently planning for the construction of a gymnasium and third classroom wing within the next 3-5 years. The school serves a total of 187 students in PreK through 11th grade, employs 31 faculty and staff members, and is committed to providing a challenging academic curriculum from a Biblical perspective. The curriculum is intentionally designed to offer a traditional education with Biblical integration in all subjects. The vision is to partner parents and educators to foster the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional well being of students so they may reach their full, God-given potential while impacting culture as a follower of Jesus Christ. The administration, faculty, and staff fulfill this vision through Biblical instruction, training in Christian character, rigorous academics, local and global community service, as well as a variety of extracurricular programs such as athletics, fine arts, elective classes, clubs and a variety of small group and school-wide activities.

Love and Grace – We desire our faculty, parents, and school board to form a Christ-centered partnership to educate and guide our students with love and grace.

Biblical Worldview & Christian Influence – In every academic subject, we integrate a connection to Christ and His Word, developing a biblical worldview to promote spiritual growth and gospel outreach.

Academic Excellence – We seek to provide a rigorous academic environment where students can reach their highest potential.

Parent Involvement – We encourage parents to be highly involved in every area of the school, sharing their gifts through service and leadership.

Church Relations – We foster close relationships with and represent many local churches throughout Wayne County and surrounding communities.

The Whole Child – We aim to support parents as they guide and develop the spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, and emotional well-being of their child(ren). We consider this partnership and whole child development approach-an important foundation to an excellent education.

Unity – We endeavor to reflect the racial, ethnic, and economic diversity within the body of Christ.

School History

Established in 2012, Wayne Christian Academy (WCA) began as Solid Rock Christian Academy (SRCA) with an initial enrollment of 12 PreK & Kindergarten students. SRCA, initially housed in, but not affiliated with the local Unity Church of God, expanded to offer 6th-8th grades by 2014. Facing growth challenges, the school purchased land in 2017, utilizing modular buildings until a fire in 2019 forced a relocation.

In 2021, SRCA rebranded as Wayne Christian Academy, transitioning to a new permanent facility. Despite setbacks, enrollment surged, prompting plans for high school classes by 2022-2023. Recent successes include a record-breaking fundraiser, launching a one-to-one device program, the development of a fine arts and athletic program, and the initiation of plans for a gymnasium and expanded facilities. Presently in the 12th school year, with 185 students in grades PreK-11th, WCA is poised for continued growth and impact, staying true to its mission of providing a robust academic and spiritual foundation.
