- 5-8th Grade Band Teacher
Description
We are offering a part-time position for a Christian Private School in Titusville, Fl.
There are two classes - 5th graders which would be all beginners and Advanced band which would consist of 6-8th graders. Those students all have experience and made straight Superior ratings at MPA this year playing grade 2 music. Presently the schedule is from 12:30-3:30 Monday’s through Friday’s.
The school has percussion equipment including concert instruments and a four octave Adams marimba. We have tubas, Euphoniums and French horns. We also have a few of the other instruments to rent as well. Method books including Accent on Achievement, Habits books for Beginners and Middle School.
Requirements
A middle school teacher in a Christian school acts as both an educator and a spiritual mentor, integrating biblical principles into academic instruction while fostering a Christ-centered environment for grades 6-8.
Responsibilities include developing engaging, faith-aligned curricula, managing student behavior, and mentoring students in their spiritual growth.

Instructional Excellence: Plan, prepare, and deliver subject-specific lessons that integrate a biblical worldview and meet academic standards.
Spiritual Leadership: Model Christ-like behavior, lead classroom devotions, and foster a nurturing, loving environment where students feel valued.
Mentorship: Serve as a spiritual guide, providing mentorship and supporting the emotional and spiritual development of young adolescents.
Assessment & Recording: Evaluate student progress through testing and projects, maintaining accurate records, and providing frequent feedback to parents.
Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in chapels, school committees, staff meetings, and potential extracurricular activities like coaching or club sponsorship.
Personal Faith: A profession of faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with the school's statement of faith. Be an active member of a like-minded church.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Character: Demonstrates a mature, Christian servant’s heart and a passion for teaching middle school students.
Key Competencies
Curriculum Integration: Ability to connect academic subjects (math, science, history, etc.) to biblical truths.
Classroom Management: Maintains a positive, structured classroom that promotes respect and collaboration.
