Description

Westlake is seeking a sixth grade teacher who loves God, loves students, and loves teaching. We want someone who sees the need to permeate all instruction with a
biblical understanding and has the ability to do so. Applicants must be able to manage elementary classrooms and keep students engaged.

Requirements

• Teach the sixth grade, using the curriculum resources provided through a Biblical worldview lens.
• Produce associated lesson plans, maintain curriculum mapping, provide adequate assessment, and maintain accurate, timely grade records.
• Participate in parent conferences (two times/ year) and be available as needed to confer with students and parents concerning student learning challenges.
• Be engaged in ongoing professional development. Attend in-service meetings the week before school begins in August and all other faculty in-service days.
• Maintain a professional personal and classroom appearance.
• Attend any evening programs in which 6th grade students are involved.
• Work with elementary teacher team to develop a cohesive instructional program.
• Participate in Professional Learning Communities on Friday mornings to work on school improvement initiatives.
