POSITION SUMMARY
The Elementary Teacher at Northside Christian School provides instruction and discipleship for students in grades PreK–4th. This role exists to cultivate a Christ-centered classroom where students grow in their understanding of what it means to learn, love, and live Jesus Christ through academic study, character formation, and daily relationships.
The Elementary Teacher ensures that instruction is delivered with excellence, care, and intentional integration of biblical truth across all subject areas. This position fosters a classroom environment that promotes spiritual growth, academic development, and social-emotional maturity while supporting the mission and values of Northside Christian School.

Professional Requirements
Hold an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Demonstrate competency in the use of Microsoft Office and educational technology tools.

INSTRUCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide clear and engaging instruction across assigned subject areas
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of subject matter and integrate faith into instruction.
Engage students through a variety of teaching methods, including discussion, hands-on learning, investigation, and creative exploration.
Adapt instruction to meet varying student learning styles and needs.
Provide meaningful feedback to support student growth and understanding.
CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT
Establish a Christ-centered classroom culture characterized by love, respect, and appropriate authority.
Maintain effective classroom management and behavioral expectations.
Exercise discipline in a manner that is consistent, fair, and redemptive in purpose.
Organize the classroom environment to maximize learning and engagement.
Foster a love of learning that encourages curiosity and academic growth.
PLANNING AND ASSESSMENT
Plan lessons that align with the NCS course of study and instructional goals.
Utilize a variety of instructional resources and learning strategies.
Collaborate with other teachers to enhance instruction and student support.
Assess student learning through a variety of methods and maintain accurate academic records.
Use technology appropriately to enhance teaching and student learning.
COMMUNICATION WITH FAMILIES
Provide clear and consistent communication with parents and guardians regarding:
Student academic progress
Classroom expectations and policies
Behavioral concerns and student development
School events, projects, and learning activities
The Elementary Teacher works collaboratively with families to support the academic and spiritual development of each student.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend required staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
Reflect on instruction in order to improve teaching effectiveness.
Maintain accurate and timely student records as required by NCS administration and Student Support Services.
Contribute positively to the overall school community.
Pursue ongoing professional growth and development.
Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with staff, students, and families.
STUDENT SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE
Maintain appropriate supervision of students at all times.
Follow all school policies related to child safety and student protection.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and family information.
Ensure compliance with school safety procedures and reporting protocols.
