Description
First Academy-Leesburg is located in central Florida approximately thirty miles northwest of Orlando. First Academy-Leesburg is a college preparatory, Christian, K-12 school accredited through ACSI and Cognia. Enrollment is normally between 500+ students. The position will begin August 3, 2026. School starts August 11, 2026. Full-time faculty and staff receive a basic health insurance plan (currently Florida Blue) for the employee, at no cost to the employee. The school also provides a retirement plan through Guidestone Financial. At the beginning of the second year the faculty and staff receive 3% of their gross salary in the retirement plan at no cost to the employee; the third year 5%, the fourth year 8% and the 5th and all subsequent years, 10%. There is not an investiture period. All funds paid in the retirement on behalf of employees remain with them regardless of the length of employment. Additional pay is based on degree level and to a small extent on experience. Bachelors degree, non-certified would begin at approximately $42,500; Bachelors degree florida certified with no experience, $44,000.00; Masters with no experience, $46,000.00
Teachers will work as part of an elementary team. Students have specials classes each week currently consisting of library, computer, music, and art, and Spanish, taught by specials teachers.
The high school currently offers seven Advanced Placement (AP) classes and also has articulation agreements with Lake Sumter State College and the University of Florida for the purpose of dual-enrollment.
Requirements
All faculty and staff must have a demonstrable testimony as to their faith in Christ. Teachers must have a four-year degree from an accredited institution. Experience is preferred, but not necessary. Technological skills are a plus. Classes are self-contained and will have no more than twenty-two students. Teachers will be required to become state certified in Florida as well as through ACSI. Florida has reciprocity with the departments of education of 47 states. Certification will not be required for hiring, as long as the certification is complete within five years.
