LOWER SCHOOL: K - 6th Grade

- Grade 6 teacher
As part of the GGIS school team serving grades Prep 1 - 6th grade, teachers hold specific responsibilities for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas. They develop lesson plans and deliver group and individualized instruction to students within established curriculum guidelines. They collaborate with other teachers, administrators, EAL teachers, and other professional staff in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues. They respond to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding the instructional program and student progress.

Job Requirements
At least 2 years of teaching experience is preferred, but newly degreed teachers are welcome to apply. All faculty must be either ACSI certified or certifiable.
Knowledge/Experience
1) English Language -- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
2) Education and Training -- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
3) Spiritual Maturity and a Biblical Worldview—Experience in the process of discipleship and mentoring of young believers, as well as integrating a biblical worldview throughout the different subjects taught.
4) Content area Knowledge: Bible, Mathematics, History, Geography, and Science – Teachers need knowledge of all grade-appropriate content.
5) Emotional Intelligence – The ability to understand your own emotions and those of your students; Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, interests, and motivation.
6) Public Safety and Security -- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations school-wide.
7) Computer and Digital Literacy- Knowledge and ability to use computers and related digital technology efficiently. Includes proficiency with search engines, Microsoft Office applications, Jupiter grade book, curriculum mapping software, Google tools, etc.
