Rock County Christian School is seeking two, full time Elementary teachers to begin in August 2026. Applicants must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be actively involved in a church. Additionally, applicants must hold a Wisconsin or other state equivalent credential or be eligible for Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) certification upon employment.
We desire creative, energetic teachers to provide a hands-on, active learning environment for our students.
Requirements
ELEMENTARY TEACHERS - 1st and 2nd Grades
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The qualified individuals are committed to fulfilling Rock County Christian School (RCCS)’s mission within our community of students and families. The role includes all aspects of planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to fulfill their academic potential and promote positive spiritual development. This is a full-time position during the ten-month academic school year.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject area/s taught;
- Demonstrate knowledge of developmental characteristics of age group taught;
- Effectively utilize the basic elements of instruction (e.g. presenting of information, questioning techniques, responding to learning input, arranging of learning activities, designing effective assessment and using assessment to inform instruction);
- Demonstrate ability to inspire learning and cultivate relationships with students;
- Prepare appropriate weekly lesson plans including instructional objectives, planned activities, Biblical integration, assessment, and resources;
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities to support proper differentiation of instruction;
- Utilize appropriate assessment techniques to inform and evaluate student learning and progress;
- Incorporate classroom technology in order to enhance instruction;
- Implement effective classroom management and discipline procedures to provide for a positive classroom environment conducive to learning;
- Assist with enlarging the vision and mission of Rock County Christian School;
- Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout all activities;
- Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration;
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with conflict with students, parents, staff, and administration.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Is a committed Christian who agrees with RCCS’s Statement of Faith.
- Has a good working knowledge of computer software and is able to learn to use new devices as applications as needed.
- Is highly organized and detail oriented.
- Uses time efficiently, is able to assess and prioritize needs in a busy environment, and is able to multi-task with ease.
- Possesses and uses excellent and effective written and oral communication skills.
- Uses excellent interpersonal skills and is able to interact well with both children and adults.
- Is courteous, welcoming, helpful and professional in appearance and mannerism both in person and on the telephone.
- A “team player” that is hard-working and willing to “go the extra mile”
- Is discreet, trustworthy and a Matthew 18:15-17 practitioner.
- Previous experience is highly desired.
