Description
The IT Manager of the Christian International School of Prague (CISP), is responsible for the strategic oversight, administration, and security of all IT systems and infrastructure. This role is pivotal in creating a stable, secure, and innovative technology environment that empowers our staff and students to excel. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert and a strategic thinker who will manage everything from network infrastructure to end-user support, ensuring that technology seamlessly supports CISP’s educational mission and long-term goals.
This is a self-supported/fund raised role.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGIC & ADMINISTRATIVE
Advise the school’s leadership on technology strategy, infrastructure, and investments to align with the CISP Technology Plan.
Manage vendor relationships, including the evaluation, procurement, and implementation of new hardware, software, and services.
Oversee the IT budget, providing input for long-term strategic and financial planning.
Develop, maintain, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
Manage all software licensing (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe) and hardware upgrade schedules to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT systems, processes, and network configurations.
SYSTEMS & NETWORK ADMINISTRATION
Administer and maintain all server and network infrastructure, including Windows Server, Linux, Virtual environments, and Ubiquiti network equipment.
Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of the school's data, network access, and Wi-Fi systems.
Design, implement, and regularly test a comprehensive data backup and disaster recovery strategy.
Perform routine system maintenance, including patching, updates, and performance monitoring.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware (computers, printers, etc.) and software across Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS environments.
Maintain and update critical school systems, including the telephone system, bell schedules, and alarms.
Oversee the technical administration of the school's website, including backend system updates, security patches, regular backups, and version control.
END-USER SUPPORT & DEVICE MANAGEMENT
Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT support, providing timely and effective assistance to staff and students.
Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on new and existing systems and software to foster digital literacy and efficiency.
Manage the entire lifecycle of the school's 1:1 Chromebook program, from deployment and maintenance to end-of-life.
Administer the school’s Google Workspace for Education suite, managing users, security settings, and applications.
EMPLOYEE PROFILE
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT systems and network administration.
Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, VCP, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Virtualization: Proficiency with VMware vSphere (ESXi and vCenter).
Server Administration: Deep experience with Microsoft Server environments (Server 2016+).
Networking: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, routing, and experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts, preferably with Ubiquiti UniFi.
Cloud Platforms: Proven experience managing Google Workspace for Education.
Operating Systems: Expertise across Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS.
Security: Solid understanding of network security principles, data backup, and restoration procedures.
