Description
A Secondary IT teacher will provide high-quality technology instruction within a Christian environment, using an English-language, US-based curriculum taught from a biblical perspective.
This role is self-supported/self-funded pay.
Requirements
HIGH SCHOOL INSTRUCTION (GRADES 9-12):
Design and teach a curriculum for an "Introduction to Coding" course, with a primary focus on the Python programming language.
Prepare and deliver instruction for Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science A course using Java, (possible expansion, AP Computer Science Principles and AP Cyber Security), adhering to the College Board's curriculum framework.
Develop and teach a cybersecurity course that engages students in foundational and applied topics such as network security, safeguarding personal information, risk assessment and compliance frameworks, digital forensics, and strategies for online safety.
MIDDLE SCHOOL INSTRUCTION (GRADES 6-8):
Develop and teach a year-long IT curriculum for middle school students, with classes meeting once per week.
Introduce foundational concepts such as digital citizenship, internet safety, hardware/software basics, and effective use of productivity suites (e.g., Google Workspace).
Introduce basic programming logic through visual block-based coding (e.g., Scratch, Code.org) or other introductory platforms.
AGE GROUP & CLASS SIZE
Class sizes at CISP range between 10-16 students. Instruction may be given to students in grades 6-12 (approximately ages 11-19).
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
May be asked to monitor recess and/or lunch (some days), attend staff meetings, and help with school events.

Agreement with and adherence to CISP’s Staff Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith.
Active participation in a local Christian church community (Protestant) is required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Seek to honor Christ in every activity and lesson presented.
Complete Christian Philosophy of Education training and integrate biblical principles and a Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and all learning activities.
Follow established curriculum guides and develop lesson plans that meet current academic expectations and objectives using varied and effective instructional strategies that foster creative teaching and support the whole child (spiritually, mentally, physically, socially, and emotionally).
Maintain accurate daily attendance and grade records to document student progress; regularly assess student learning and provide progress reports, report cards, and student evaluations.
Maintain a clean, safe, orderly, and well-managed classroom.
Keep students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of progress and areas of concern, and provide sufficient notice of potential course or class failure, as required by CISP policy.
Keep all student, staff, and family information confidential as directed and in accordance with school policy.
Develop and maintain a positive, professional rapport with students, parents, and staff.
Understand and implement procedures for addressing emergencies.
Monitor and supervise students on school grounds and field trips.
Adhere to the guidelines, rules, and expectations for teachers as outlined in the Staff Handbook, including attendance expectations for staff meetings and professional development.
Perform other duties, including teaching across subjects or departments, as assigned by the administration.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution;
Preferred: Possesses or will possess a valid teaching license/certificate, or is willing to work toward ACSI Teacher Certification;
Possesses evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the school administration.
Possesses or will possess Christian Philosophy of Education requirements as determined by school policy;
Strong organizational and communication skills;
Self-motivated.
