Downers Grove Christian School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior High/Middle School teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming school year. We are a Christ-centered educational community committed to discipleship, spiritual growth, and the development of students in character, faith, and academics.

We are currently seeking candidates to teach Junior High History/Social Studies and Spanish. The ideal candidate would be able to teach both subject areas, creating a full-time teaching position. However, we are also open to part-time arrangements for candidates who are qualified and interested in teaching either History/Social Studies or Spanish.

Position Overview

The Junior High/Middle School teacher will be responsible for instructing students in grades 6–8, integrating a biblical worldview into all areas of teaching, and fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment. The teacher will help students grow academically, spiritually, and personally while encouraging curiosity, responsibility, and a love of learning.

Depending on the candidate’s background and availability, this position may include teaching History/Social Studies, Spanish, or a combination of both.

• Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development
• Model Christ-like behavior and spiritual maturity for students

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (required)
• Valid Illinois teaching license, ACSI certification (or ability to obtain)
• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian education
• Full agreement with the school’s statement of faith and mission
• Strong classroom management and organizational skill.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and administration
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience at the junior high level
• Subject area expertise
• Experience in a Christian school setting
