Downers Grove Christian School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior High Math/Science Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming school year. We are a Christ-centered educational community committed to discipleship, spiritual growth, and the development of students in character, faith, and academics.

Position Overview

The Junior High Teacher will be responsible for instructing students in grades 6–8 in math and science, integrating a biblical worldview into all areas of teaching, and fostering a supportive and engaging classroom

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards
• Integrate Christian faith and biblical principles into daily instruction
• Establish and maintain a positive, disciplined classroom environment
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to students and parents
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development
• Model Christ-like behavior and spiritual maturity for students

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (required)
• Valid Illinois teaching license, ACSI certification (or ability to obtain)
• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian education
• Full agreement with the school’s statement of faith and mission
• Strong classroom management and organizational skill.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and administration
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience at the junior high level
• Subject area expertise
• Experience in a Christian school setting
