Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated K-5 Teacher to inspire and educate students, fostering a love for learning and supporting their academic and social development in a Christian environment. Duties
- Use of the Abeka curriculum to develop comprehensive plans aligned with educational standards for the Kindergarten classroom, including literacy, math, history, science, and Bible.
- Design and implement dynamic lessons using various learning technology tools to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and tutoring sessions.
- Provide individualized support for students and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, academic advising, and school-wide initiatives to promote holistic student growth.
- Maintain healthy communication with parents regarding their student's academic, social, and behavioral progress
Requirements
Requirements
- A love for God, for children, a strong Christian character, and a commitment to biblical values.
- Proven classroom experience working with children from diverse backgrounds in K-5 settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management strategies
- Familiarity with learning technology tools, such as IXL.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for students requiring individualized instruction.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and assessment techniques to monitor academic progress.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating a classroom that supports children’s emotional and social well-being
- Private Christian school experience is a plus, but not required.
A pastoral reference is required.
