Description

Job Summary:  The Middle School History Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, academically rigorous instruction in history to all students.  This position integrates a biblical worldview throughout all aspects of instruction, fostering in students a love of learning and a respect for God’s sovereignty over history.  The teacher embodies the school's vision, mission, values, and expected student outcomes.  

•  Plan, prepare, and deliver educational lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning, align with school curriculum standards, and incorporate biblical integration. 
• Demonstrate differentiated instructional methods to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
• Design instruction that promotes critical thinking, research skills, and meaningful engagement with primary and secondary sources.
• Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies including discussions, project based learning, cooperative learning and direct instruction.
• Provide student supervision to ensure a safe, positive learning environment. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related subject
• Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior.
• Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and standard for faith and daily living.
• Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions towards others. This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct. Luke 6:40 “A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.”
• Be a member in good standing at a local, evangelical church that has a statement of faith in agreement with Hickory Grove Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith.
