Description
Our goal is that all of our students will have fun while learning about the world of music, creating in them an appreciation for vocal and instrumental music and encouraging them to develop their God-given musical abilities. Music class should be active and engaging at all times. The music teacher helps students ages Pre-K-12 grow in their enjoyment, appreciation and performance of music through a variety of planned music experiences that include stories, listening, singing, moving to music and playing instruments.
Requirements
4-year degree in Music Education, Elementary Education or a related field
Teaching certification and 2 years’ experience preferred
Evangelical Christian testimony with active local church experience
Senseofcalling to teach in a developing nation
Creativity, attention to detail, good interpersonal skills and excellent organizational abilities
Confident to lead worship through music in small and large group settings, for preschool, elementary, secondary and adults Ability to stand or circulate for extended periods of time
Ability to bend, crouch, kneel to teach and assist students and to lift musical equipment and supplies, sitting in chairs and/or floor and reaching in all directions Willingness to make a three (or more) year commitment
Full fluency and expertise in English; conversational Spanish preferred (willingness to learn is a must)
