Description
Summary: The principal serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and
procedures related to student growth and achievement. This includes providing administrative services, monitoring the
educational program, accreditation leadership and assisting the Head of School. The principal ensures that the academic
program and culture of school appropriately reflects the school mission and best practices in education. The principal
works closely with the Head of School, Dean of Students, and other departments, as necessary. The principal reports to
the Head of School.

- Model core organizational beliefs, values, and mission statement; communicate openly and effectively within and across teams to maximize school success.
- Develop and maintain classroom environments conductive to effective learning and appropriate for the spiritual, physical, social, and emotion development of students.
- Demonstrate spiritual leadership to school faculty, students, and parents
- Provide leadership and oversight of the school curricular program
- Provide support to the athletic director and athletic program
- Discipline and counsel high school and middle school students from a Biblical perspective
- Serve as chair and visionary for ACSI accreditation
- Collaborate with Head of School in Monitoring and facilitating Academic Budget and its implementation
- Possess organizational and administrative skills
- Provide leadership and organization of technology advancement
- Collaborate with the Head of School and administrative team to carry out school directives
- Collaborate with other faculty and administration to improve performance of all students campus-wide.
- Effectively implement the discipline-management procedures approved by the campus; interact with students in an equitable manner, including the fair application of rules.
- Utilize effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Direct and facilitate Learning Enrichment program.
- Advises high school students on college and career readiness.
- Establish and maintain professional communication with parents, students, and school personnel; ensure that all interactions are supportive, courteous, and respectful; approach others in a spirit of love demonstrated by the Fruit of the Spirit.
- Collaborate with the Head of School to develop and facilitate professional development activities that arealigned with campus goals, assigned subject content and the varied needs of students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records; file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Participate in chapel, devotions, and faculty meetings; serve on staff committees as required.
- Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.
- Comply with HCA’s Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Staff and Faculty.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Personal Qualifications:
- Be a born-again Christian. Have a personal, growing relationship with Christ.
- Adhere to HCA’s statement of faith.
- Faithfully attend (in person) a local, Bible-believing church.
- Live a lifestyle in accordance with Scripture.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Bible and subject(s) assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction

- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

- Basic technology competencies
- An understanding of the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of students under your care.
- Supervise all matters relating to curriculum and accreditation
- Provide leadership and organization of technology advancement
- Coordinate periodic academic program review and work with the faculty in the review, study and development or curriculum and in the improvement of instruction
- Recommend hiring and discharge of instructors, teachers and other academic staff
- Assist the Head of School to supervise all teachers and staff serving in academic roles
- Assist the Head of School to evaluate faculty and staff and provide guidance for effective instruction and spiritual growth
- Assist the Head of School in coordinating professional development strategies for teachers with specific regard to increasing academic qualifications and improving teaching skills
- Keep the Head of School informed about activities or concerns related to the academic program
- Communicate with the Dean of Students to identify and resolve student academic or behavioral
- Provide academic input to student admissions efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- Hold a Master’s Degree. Master’s degree with emphasis in curriculum, leadership or administration is preferred
- Hold an ACSI standard certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Possess prior school leadership/administrative experience including strong organizational and management skills
- Experience in creating and facilitating professional development for staff
- Ability to train teachers to integrate biblical truth into all academics with excellence
- Experience with teacher evaluation to enhance student achievement
- Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal skills and good judgment
Experience
- Student teaching or school administrative experience preferred
Mental/Physical/Environment Demands:
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing
- Frequent moving of small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment
- Occasional prolonged and irregular hours
