Principal Position Summary
The Principal serves as the spiritual, educational, and administrative leader of Immanuel Christian School. This position is ministerial in nature and exists to provide Christ-centered leadership that promotes academic excellence, lead teaching and learning, assist in spiritual growth, discipleship, hire and retain excellent teachers, and build a strong partnership between the school, church, and families.
The Principal is responsible for developing and maintaining a school culture that honors Jesus Christ, supports biblical truth, and encourages students and staff toward spiritual maturity and educational success.

Spiritual Leadership & Ministerial Responsibilities
- Model Christ-like leadership and maintain a consistent Christian testimony in personal and professional life.
- Provide spiritual oversight and pastoral encouragement to students, faculty, staff, and families.
- Foster a school culture grounded in biblical values, discipleship, servant leadership, grace, and accountability.
- Lead or oversee chapels, staff devotions, prayer gatherings, and spiritual emphasis events.
- Encourage the integration of biblical worldview principles throughout all curriculum and student activities.
- Support the spiritual development of faculty and staff through mentoring, encouragement, and prayer.
- Work in unity with Immanuel Baptist Church leadership to ensure alignment with the mission and ministry philosophy of the church.
Educational Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and leadership for all academic programs and instructional practices.
- Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff to ensure excellence in teaching, professionalism, and spiritual influence.
- Develop annual educational goals and school improvement initiatives.
- Ensure curriculum objectives meet educational standards while supporting a Christian worldview.
- Promote a safe, structured, and Christ-centered learning environment.
- Encourage professional growth opportunities for teachers and staff.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the school and maintain organizational effectiveness.
- Develop, implement, and enforce school policies and procedures.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and retention of school personnel.
- Assist the School Board with budget planning and stewardship of school resources.
- Maintain accurate school records, student data, and operational reporting.
- Build strong communication and relationships with parents, staff, church leadership, and the community.
- Encourage community involvement and positive representation of Immanuel Christian School.
Student & Family Leadership
- Shepherd students through biblical guidance, encouragement, and accountability.
- Partner with parents in the academic and spiritual training of students.
- Address discipline matters with wisdom, consistency, grace, and restorative biblical principles.
- Promote student leadership, service opportunities, and spiritual development.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Education or Educational Leadership or a Bachelor’s Degrees and 3-5 years teaching or administrative experience.
- A clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with the beliefs and mission of Immanuel Baptist Church and Immanuel Christian School.
- Demonstrated calling to Christian education and ministry leadership.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Educational leadership and/or pastoral ministry experience preferred.
- Commitment to biblical integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and servant leadership.
- Active involvement in a Bible-believing church.
