Position Summary
The Elementary Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging learning experiences for students in the third grade. This teacher will oversee core academic subjects and demonstrates strong instructional skill, effective classroom leadership, and a deep commitment to biblical integration in every area of study.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement standards aligned lesson plans that reflect Shekinah’s mission and clearly integrate a biblical worldview.
- Teach core academic subjects using research based instructional practices and meaningful student engagement strategies.
- Cultivate a classroom culture marked by respect, responsibility, diligence, and Christlike character.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative measures and maintain accurate records in the school management system.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding academic progress, spiritual growth, and student well being.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners while maintaining high expectations.
- Supervise students during assigned duties and prioritize student safety at all times.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, mentoring initiatives, and school events.
- Model a life consistent with biblical standards in both personal conduct and professional relationships.

Faculty members disciple students through daily interactions, prayer, mentorship, and testimony. The Teacher must be prepared to lead students in spiritual formation by integrating faith with learning, encouraging critical thinking through a Christian lens, and fostering habits that lead to lifelong discipleship and learning.
Professional Expectations
This is a full-time faculty position. Teachers are expected to maintain professional excellence in preparation, punctuality, communication, and collaboration. Faculty members support the broader mission of the school through involvement in school activities, student mentoring opportunities, and partnership with families.
Requirements
Qualifications
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a local evangelical church.
- Agreement with Shekinah Christian School’s statement of faith and commitment to Christian education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to build strong relationships with students and families.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
