Description
The primary responsibility of a teacher at Faith Christian High School is to support and advance the Mission and Purpose of Faith Christian School by serving as a Christ-centered role model for students.
Teachers work under the direct supervision of the Campus Principal and are responsible for delivering high quality instruction that is academically rigorous and biblically integrated. Each teacher is expected to cultivate a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning while addressing the academic, emotional, and spiritual development of students.
Teachers are expected to partner with families, colleagues, and administration to support student growth and contribute positively to the overall school community.
Requirements
I. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in the primary field of instruction required.
Teachers may instruct in a secondary field with demonstrated subject-matter competency.
A valid California teaching credential is required, in progress (with a documented completion plan), or an ACSI teaching certificate.
Demonstrated commitment to Christian education and alignment with Faith Christian School’s Mission and Statement of Faith.
Active involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical church consistent with the school’s philosophy.
Evidence of spiritual maturity and a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
II. Responsibilities
1. Serve as a Christian role model in speech, conduct, and lifestyle consistent with biblical principles and the school’s Statement of Faith.
2. Deliver clear, engaging, and effective instruction in assigned subject areas.
3. Intentionally integrate biblical worldview principles into curriculum and classroom discussions.
4. Develop and implement thoughtful daily and weekly lesson plans aligned with school curriculum standards.
5. Follow established scope and sequence and course outlines.
6. Maintain accurate and timely records of grades, attendance, and student progress.
7. Communicate proactively and professionally with parents and guardians.
8. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-managed classroom environment.
9. Establish and uphold classroom discipline consistent with school policies.
10. Attend and participate in required meetings, professional development, faculty devotions, and school events.
11. Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff in a spirit of unity and teamwork.
12. Pursue ongoing professional growth through workshops, conferences, coursework, and professional learning opportunities.
13. Fulfill physical and supervisory duties as required (including campus supervision, events, or extracurricular involvement as assigned).
