Community Christian School is seeking a passionate and skilled full-time Vocal Music Teacher to lead and grow our vocal music program for students in PreK through 12th grade. This position offers the opportunity to help students develop musical ability, confidence, creativity, and joy while encouraging them to use their gifts in ways that honor God.
The Vocal Music Teacher will provide instruction across a broad range of grade levels and developmental stages, helping students grow in vocal technique, music literacy, performance skills, and appreciation for music. This individual will also contribute to the broader life of the school through performances, chapel involvement, and collaboration with fellow staff.
The ideal candidate will bring strong musical competence, age-appropriate teaching ability, and a heart for Jesus. This person will foster a positive learning environment, build a strong vocal music culture, and contribute meaningfully to the broader mission and daily life of the school.
Position Details
Full-time
PreK–12th grade
Compensation based on experience
Start Date: Fall 2026
Primary Responsibilities
Teach vocal music to students in PreK through 12th grade, with instruction appropriate to students’ ages, developmental levels, and musical ability
Plan and deliver engaging vocal music instruction that builds singing technique, music literacy, rhythm, pitch accuracy, listening skills, and performance readiness
Lead vocal ensembles, choirs, and other student vocal groups as appropriate for the school’s program
Prepare students for performances and presentations throughout the school year, including programs typically held around Christmastime and in the spring
Support and help lead music for chapel, school programs, and other special events as appropriate
Work collaboratively with the drama teacher to prepare and direct vocal elements for school musical productions
Encourage students in both musical growth and personal character development
Select music that is age-appropriate, educationally meaningful, and consistent with the values of CCS.
Cultivate a classroom atmosphere marked by encouragement, discipline, teamwork, and respect
Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, staff, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and program needs
Assist in the care, organization, and oversight of music materials, sheet music, equipment, costumes, and other program resources as needed
Participate in miscellaneous school duties as assigned and contribute to the overall life of the school as a team member
Maintain a visible Christian testimony, an active role in a local church, and serve as a positive spiritual role model for students

Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in music education with specialization in vocal music preferred
Experience teaching vocal music or directing school choirs preferred
Ability to teach and engage students across a wide range of ages, from PreK through high school
Strong classroom leadership, organizational ability, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate well with other faculty members, including in performance and production settings
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with the mission and values of Community Christian School
A desire to invest in students both musically and spiritually
