We are seeking a collaborative and caring High School Math teacher, with possible middle school classes as well, who is committed to our mission of equipping students to walk with Jesus and impact the world for Him. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong instructional practice, values partnership with families and colleagues, and contributes positively to our school community.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver clear, well-organized lessons aligned with school standards and students’ developmental needs.
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and use assessments to monitor and guide student growth.
Create a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that supports learning and positive behavior.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
Participate in professional learning, team collaboration, and the school improvement process.
Support the mission, vision, values, and Expected Student Outcomes of OCSI.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (education or related field).
Valid teacher certification/licensure.
Successful classroom teaching experience (minimum of 2 years preferred).
Commitment to Christian education and ability to integrate faith into teaching and community life.
Alignment with OCSI’s mission, vision, and values.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in international or multicultural school settings.
Experience using standards-based curriculum and assessment practices.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
Okinawa Christian School was established in 1957 to provide Christ-centered education for the children of evangelical missionaries. OCSI currently serves over 580 students in our K-12 program.
Our classes are taught in English, and we use an American-style curriculum that addresses the whole person, is Biblically based, recognizes all truth is God’s truth, emphasizes sharing the Gospel and discipleship, and encourages Biblical thinking and living.
